Dear TeX users,
- We are pleased to announce the proceedings of the EuroTeX 2005
conference, produced by DANTE e.V. and jointly published
by many TeX user groups: DANTE, CervanTeX, GUST, GUT,
NTG, TUG, and UKTUG. It is the first of the three TUG
publications for 2006, although it's not a numbered
TUGboat issue as such. The printed volume was mailed
(from Germany) to current (2006) TUG members a few days ago.
Immediate online access to journal articles is now
available only to TUG members. The proceedings articles
will be publicly available around May 20, 2007. The
introductions, conference photos, etc., are available
now. http://tug.org/TUGboat/Contents/contents27-0.html
If you're not already a member, we hope you'll consider
joining TUG or another TeX user group, to support these
publications, conferences, and other TeX projects.
- As mentioned earlier, the Lucida fonts are available through TUG, in
two sets. The "complete set" is exactly the same 41
Lucida fonts which Y&Y sold. We also provide a "basic
set" with 22 fonts -- all the math fonts and the
essential text fonts. Both individual and site licenses
are available, with a substantial discount for TUG
members. Font samples, documentation, and more are
available: http://tug.org/lucida
Also, there is now an option to upgrade the license for
the Lucida fonts for original Y&Y customers. There is
no fee, but you must be a TUG member. Please see:
https://www.tug.org/store/lucida/yyupgrade.html
- The application deadline for TUG 2006 bursaries is fast approaching!
Applications must be submitted by electronic mail no
later than 2 June 2006. See
http://www.tug.org/bursary/2006app.html.
- Don't forget to check out the TUG Interview Corner at
http://www.tug.org/interviews. New interviews are added
on a regular basis. Duane Bibby is the most recent
interviewee.
- Also, the 6th issue of The PracTeX Journal has just been
published. There are articles on making presentations,
editing graphics, LaTeX in scientific reports, learning
and teaching LaTeX, and an assortment of regular columns
and opinion.

Dave Walden will serve as guest editor for the next
issue. He is seeking papers for the issue, especially
about improving writing and publishing productivity via
TeX and friends. Of course, any papers suitable for the
PracTeX Journal audience are welcomed. Email
pracjourn at tug.org.
