It would be nice to have an up-to-date user guide which can be put on
CTAN so that it will go into TeX distributions as well.
However, before you invest any time, please read the license first.

With this license, I think, pst-user.tex is not a good starting point.
This license is inappropriate for any TeX distribution. I suppose
that Timothy van Zandt did not change the license of the files in the
'obsolete' directory to LPPL because he regarded them as obsolete and
did not take into account that someone wants to update them.
Herbert, are you, as the current maintainer of PST, allowed to change
the copyright of the old doc files?
