[texhax] Figure Link issues

Oh Great and Knowledgeable Guru's;

I am busily finalizing my master's thesis and am looking for a way to speed 
things up. My school makes us put captions above tables and below figures. 
Well, the links in In the "List of Figures" in my thesis link to the figure 
caption. This is fine, however when you click on the link after you make the 
.pdf file, the caption is at the top of the page with the figure not visible 
and this is not acceptable to the editorial office. So, I have to edit the 
links in Adobe.

I would like to change the links in the LOF to link to the figure itself or 
the page the figure is on, if that is possible. I tried changing the 
"main.lof" file, but this gets written over everytime an output is created. 
Adding "/nofiles" to the preamble of the main document prevents the 
generating of any output.

Is there any way to fix this issue, or should I just keep fiddling with it 
in acrobat?
