Dear TeX user,

- Paper ballots for the TUG 2005 election for president were mailed to
TUG members for 2005 in early April. The postmark deadline for the
ballots to be returned is very soon: May 15.
So if you have joined or renewed for 2005, and haven't yet received
the ballot, please email office at tug.org right away. Or
if you aren't a current member, and want to participate in the
election, please join/renew as soon as possible (http://tug.org/join.html).

- Another reason to join/renew soon: the early bird discount rate for
TUG membership expires May 31. Thanks for your support :).

- Practical TeX 2005 will take place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina,
from June 14-17, 2005. The keynote speaker will be Nelson Beebe, and
many other TeX notables will be present. A schedule of classes and
talks is available on the web site, along with a registration form.

- TUG 2005 will take place in Wuhan, China, from August 23-25, 2005,
sponsored by TUG and CTUG (the Chinese TeX User Group). The keynote
speaker will be Wai Wong, and a list of other speakers is on the web
site. A few slots are left for other talks; if you're interested,
  please email tug2005 at tug.org.

Also, a registration form for TUG 2005 is now available.
The early bird rate has been extended to May 31; please register soon
if you'd like to visit China this summer:

As always, please don't hesitate to contact us (tug-news at tug.org) with
