[texhax] force monochrome into included eps

hi all !

i'm using the graphicx package to \includegraphics (eps files, with
%!PS-Adobe-2.0 EPSF-1.2 in the header, created by exporting matlab
figures to eps).

these graphs have different colors, which is very neet when i display
the document on a computer screen.

however, the ugly thing i would like to prevent, when i print them out,
the colored lines get all "rasterized" by the printer (that cannot print
colors).

now in conjunction with my thesis i created sort of a little package for
it, which has two options: printbw and printcolor. i use this to fix a
number of things, and i would like to use that aswell to force all
included eps files to be converted to purely monochrome, i.e. all red,
blue, yellow etc. lines are to be set pure black so they come up as
clean lines on the printout, go ing LaTeX => PS => PDF.

is there any way of achieving this, i.e. *without* touching the eps
files themselves ?

thx for your help,

florian
