I am currently only addressing beginners on single-user systems (eg 
laptops). Installation on a multi-user system is a whole other thing.

 From cron? I see no sign of it here, but this system is Linux Mint 20.1 
so I'll check some more up-to-date ones.

That would be interesting, but I would need to be able to cater for the 
users without this service too.
