Ouch, that is seriously incorrect :-( at least for Linux.
* the screenshots are for Debian based systems (Ubuntu is just a child
  system here, they are doing NOTHING wrt TeX, just taking what Debian
  provide)
* Running texconfig postinstall: NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO No no no...
  was that enough?
  On Debian(Ubuntu) systems you should NOT do that. Full stop.
  Actually, I don't know ANY system (redhat, suse, debian based, arch)
  where this is necessary. It just messes up the system.
  Why do you put this in there?
* No comments on Mac or Windows
