problem with Arabtex in Tex Live 2024

I have recently installed on my Mac mini (Apple M1, 16 GB, Macintosh HD,
Sonoma 14.5) the Tex Live 2024 distribution in its MacTex-2024 version, in
a smooth process as usual.

That done, I needed to compile a part of my files written under Arabtex and
I found an error which is reflected in the attached .log files but which
essentially consists of the following:

./arabtex_texlive_2024_with_error.tex:22: LaTeX Error: Loading a class or
packa
ge in a group.

I have been unable to contact the arabtex developers according to the data:

so I have decided to address my report to you.

In an attempt to approximate the problem, I have understood that it occurs
when other packages such as graphicx are required in the header in addition
to arabtex; in reality it also occurs for example with: hyperref, tikz, etc.


In order to highlight the problem to you, I have prepared some files which
I am attaching and explaining now:

"arabtex_texlive-2024_without_error.tex"; is a file that in the header
basically loads arabtex without the need of other packages.
"arabtex_texlive-2024_without_error.pdf" is the result of compiling the
previous package and "arabtex_texlive-2024_without_error.log" is the .log
file of the compilation. There is no problem here.

"arabtex_texlive-2024_with_error.tex"; uses arabtex and loads graphicx, an
error occurs and is logged in "arabtex_texlive-2024_with_error.log".

"arabtex_texlive-2024_with_error_sophist.tex"; is a slightly more
sophisticated and realistic file for my teaching needs. The error occurs
when compiling under Tex Live 2024, as listed in
"arabtex_texlive-2024_with_error_sophist.log".


"arabtex_texlive-2023_without_error_sophist.tex"; is a file with exactly
the same content as "arabtex_texlive-2024_with_error_sophist.tex" and will
be compiled under Tex Live 2023.  The .log of that compilation is
"arabtex_texlive-2024_with_error_sophist.tex.log" and
"arabtex_texlive-2024_with_error_sophist.tex.pdf" is the correct output we
want to produce.

"bolas.jpg"; is an auxiliary file in some of the above.

Please consider the problem reported here and promote a solution if you
can, or otherwise suggest me who to contact.
