Tcl/Tk 9.0

A Tcl/Tk 9.0 Beta 1 was released just two days ago, replacing 8.7 Alpha 5. Compiling it on macOS Sonoma, tlshell seems to have problems with it:

The problem is most likely with the beta, it's very early, there are important listed incompatibilities. I was just wondering whether somebody was looking at Tcl's evolution.

tlshell (or install-tl in gui mode) doesn't work with the macOS built-in Tcl/Tk 8.5, but it does with a locally compiled 8.6. Apple is still telling they will remove the built-in Tcl/Tk at some point, but not when.
