Using a truetype font in a lualatex

Herbert, if I put \listfiles into the preamble, the log file does 
produce *File List". It differs a bit from your example. It has the 
lines:

  ...
  fontspec.sty    2020/02/21 v2.7i Font selection for XeLaTeX and 
  LuaLaTeX
  fontspec-luatex.sty    2020/02/21 v2.7i Font selection for XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX
    fontenc.sty
  fontspec.cfg
    fix-cm.sty    2020/11/24 v1.1t fixes to LaTeX
    ts1enc.def    2001/06/05 v3.0e (jk/car/fm) Standard LaTeX file 

Not sure what your "output" refers to . These lines do not appear in 
the PDF.

I'm running TeXLive 2021. Do you believe updating to 2022 will 
resolve the problem? A file dated 2020.02 does not seem particularly 
"old."
