Thank you Norbert, Zdenek, Karl:

1. The target filesystem was inadvertently mounted noexec. I have
remounted and will try again.

2. Is there any way to restart an install without redoing the
successful downloads?

3. Does 'ls-R file' mean a file named 'ls-R' ?
