pdflatex does not work on win after todays update but does on linux

Hi Andreas,
you could try plain pdftex.  A simple plain TeX file is

  good\bye

This should create a PDF file showing the word 'good'.

According to

  http://tug.org/svn/texlive/trunk/Master/bin/win32/

pdftex.exe was modified 3 months ago and pdftex.dll 5 weeks ago.
