Here are two more patches I from my pipe:

* x3.patch documents a workaround wrt 
https://github.com/jschrod/xindy.ctan/issues/3 (not the issue itself)

* xindy-bug1.diff fixes https://sourceforge.net/p/xindy/bugs/1/ (a
separate patch documents the change)
