xetex test creation for reading pdf images?

If anyone is interested in working on low-level XeTeX test cases: it
would be good to write test(s) for PDF image inclusion in XeTeX, that
would run when the binary is built. I.e., stuff for
Build/source/web2c/tests.

There's a file luaimage.tex in the sibling luatexdir/tests which could
serve as a starting point.

This comes up now because in the TL development sources, XeTeX now uses
the pplib library (originally by Pawel Jackowski) for reading PDF files.
Although LuaTeX has been using it for a couple of years, of course
testing in every context is desirable. (A new binary is already included
in Akira's W32TeX distribution, for anyone using that.)

In general, essentially everything in TL could use more test cases, if
by chance anyone gets interested in this unglamorous, woefully
neglected, but so-important work.

Thanks,
Karl
