Is pygmentex(.py) a pythin2 script?

Hi,

beside pythontex I found a script which looks like a python2 script

  pygmentex.tar.xz texmf-dist/scripts/pygmentex/pygmentex.py

as out policy here is to switch over to python3, that is that
python2 scripts will not be accepted anymore, I'd like to know
how to replace this one?
