Tried "XeTeX" from a CMD prompt; that seemed OK (tho' I didn't ask it to do anything), then I tried in turn (from thes same prompt) :
1. TLMGR
2. TLMGR --gui
3. TLSHELL
Only the last did anything useful, but then I was told :
Back end gone. Last command:
(i) info -data
name,localrev,remoterev,cat-version,cagegory,shortdesc
[OK]
Clicking on [OK] caused TLSHELL to disappear completely.
