[tex-live] TL2018: Problems with filenames

There are some changes in that area but I can not reproduce that I get


$ pdflatex Begrußung.tex

(with a Begrußung.tex file that just contains \stop )

what operating system do you use and which version exactly of latex
(where mine says LaTeX2e <2018-04-01> pre-release-5) but it's
functionally the same as the public patch level 4 release.
