Sometime ago there was an issue with els elsarticle.cls  ; it turned out
that on CTAN version was 1.20

and on their site 1.20b (both of the same date but different) and only the
second was correct. Some people contacted Elsevier support and they
promised to address this disparity but still did not. Also some support
templates available only on their site

It is not sufficient to persuade the publisher to make one time upload, it
is necessary to persuade it to maintain their submission on CTAN.
