[tex-live] issue with "tlmgr paper" currently reporting undefined for pdftex

I don't read Perl, but it seems that the issue is simply that
the TLPaper.pm

which I find in /usr/local/texlive/2016/tlpkg/TeXLive

# $Id: TLPaper.pm 39129 2015-12-17 11:34:14Z preining $
# TeXLive::TLPaper.pm - query/modify paper sizes for our various programs

isn't in sync with the current situation regarding 

/usr/local/texlive/2016/texmf-dist/tex/generic/tex-ini-files/pdftexconfig.dat

which is read by pdftexconfig.tex.

It seems TLpaper.pm wants to examine pdftexconfig.tex but
that was TL2015 set-up and now it will fetch from pdftexconfig.dat

Obviously I am just too impatient and the pretest is really a pretest ;-)
