[tex-live] instaling texlive on a thumb drive

To whom it may concern:



I have downloaded the files from CTAN and I copied them to an 8 GB thumb drive.



I want to be able to launch TeX Live from the thumb drive.



Can you please tell me what needs to be done so I can do that? I thought it was enough to install it on the thumb drive, but I cannot find a way to store the downloaded programs and files on the thumb drive.
