[tex-live] Problems with texlive install on MacOS X 10.4.11

Hi,

I tried to install texlive 2011 on an Intel Mac running MacOS X 10.4.11. At first it refused to install because the decompressor xzdec was missing. I downloaded the latest version of the source and compiled/installed xzdec. After that the installation (darwin-universal platform) ran smoothly, but not a single binary works, I always get a "Bus Error". I tried to install the other darwin platform (x86_64-darwin) and with those binaries I get a "wrong CPU" error. The Mac was previously running texlive 2007 (which I stupidly erased and now the owner of the Mac is in deep trouble because she cannot run any TeX anymore).

Can you help me in any way?
