    So, I would propose that we remove all cont-xx, 

I didn't think they were there, but I see cont-en was (re?)enabled at
some point.  I have now removed it (r3208).

    mptopdf (already not there in most cases) and metafun from
    fmtutil.cnf 

They were both there.  I have now deleted them too (r3209).

    and decide that these are to be created by texexec and not by fmtutil.
