Ok, this looks like a bug in the perl version of updmap (the .exe included
in TeX Live was generated by a perl compiler). I'd say: put that line
into the config file (updmap.cfg) by hand and recreate your map files
by running updmap. Then, get in touch with Fabrice to fix this problem.

For now, it seems that you cannot use the --enable option of updmap.
If you do this "by hand", you don't loose all the other benefits of
updmap. Just remember to call "updmap" after you change the config file
using an editor. BTW: the main reason for adding the command line options
to editing the updmap.cfg file was to support the GUI of the MAC OS/X
port :-)
I agree that it would be bad to add map files individually to the
configuration of dvips, pdftex, xdvi, dvipdfm, ...
