Given the current  texmf.cnf, is it  harmless (maybe even useful !) to
have this mktex.cnf :

: ${MT_FEATURES=appendonlydir:varfonts:fontmaps}
: ${MODE=ljfour}
: ${BDPI=600}

instead of the current one ?
