How does this affect the section name sorting?  It seems like it would
be sorted under "Store t" anyway?

I can see the need for \() in
  @<Store \(s)|save_stack ...
  @<Store \(c)|cur_box| ...

but it seems that like his use of \(m) in
  @<Store \(m)maximum values ...
is likewise a no-op? 

But I guess I must be misunderstanding, since I see he also has
  @<Scan for \(a)all ...

and other such cases where it looks redundant. What's going on :)?
This is not a feature I ever noticed before. Learn something new about
