[tex-k] vertical line length issue

    some of the vertical note stems are too long. On my system
    the problem arises with -D 300 but not with -D 600, but on
    other systems the situation is reversed. 

Yikes.

I would welcome a patch. Not likely I'll have a chance to look into the
code myself for a while, but it's on the pile.  Thanks for the report. -k
