[tex-k] "cmman" font fails in dvips

Hi,

Run tex on this file:

    \font\cmman=cmman \cmman \char'14 \end

Then run

    dvips -q -Ppdf file

Output is:

    dvips: Font cmman at 8000 not found; scaling 600 instead.
    dvips: Such scaling will generate extremely poor output.

Is it the intended behavior?
