[tex-eplain] non-LaTex .bst files

Hi John,

How should I go about finding a .bst file that does what I want
and does not rely on LaTex?

I don't know of any way except to try.

It might actually be easier to reimplement whatever bits of LaTeX are
being used by the bst than to search through the endless bst's.
Usually nothing very complex is needed. (And \newcommand etc. Are
already implementing in Eplain.)

Another option might be to run
  tex makebst
(the custom-bib package) and make your own bst; hopefully what makebst
writes does not depend on latex commands, although I admit I don't know
that for a fact.

Best,
Karl
