Agreed.

    At the moment there is no assigned mentor for this project.
    Students should propose a mentor by [HOW?]

I had thought about including some of the possibilities that were
discussed in this thread but eventually decided that a student is more
likely to get excited about a solution that he comes up with himself
than a predetermined solution or even a solution narrowed down to a
specific set of possibilities.
