[pstricks] conversion from latex pictures to pstricks

I've got a set of simple graphs hand-drawn in latex using the 
 
\begin{picture}(...,...)(...,...)
...
\end{picture}

environment; I'd like to enhance these pictures with simple features such as shading (perhaps even coloring) of areas which seems possible with pstricks.
 
Does anybody know of a utility that converts latex pictures to pstricks syntax? or would I have to do this manually? (If not, hints on how to achieve shading in plain latex syntax are welcome as well)
