My next question is the following:

A string is given to a macro as an argument (say {#5}).
In the macro I have a (!ps) section to calculate a
coordinate pair at which to \rput the string, but
I need to use the string width in that calculation
(using the [refpoint] parameter or the \uput command
do not accomplish what I need). I tried:

                (#5) stringwidth

inside the (!ps) code, but the parentheses that are
required by ps to define a string seem to confuse the
pst macro processor and to stop the interpretation of
the rest of the macro.

Is there a way to get around this problem, or an
alternative way to obtain the string width and to pass
it on to the (!ps) code?

Thank you for your help, I.S.
