Yes PSTricks (PST) is very good and also there is another good
package: MetaPost (MP). It has similar ability and quality.

I use PSTRicks or MetaPost depending on which one seems 
to be easier (better) in particular case.

Thanks about MetaPost. Unfortunately, it needs some
knowledge of metafont, and I know nothing about
the metafont language. So I'll leave that waiting
for the moment. Buying the Metafont Book is under
consideration...
