[pdftex] pdflatex failures on big-endian architectures (s390x / ppc64)

Hi Karl, Holman
Do you think you can create an uncompressed PDF ? — which will be easier to compare with PDFs built from the same LaTeX source on other architectures.
Ideally the PDFs would be identical; but that clearly is not happening. So I’d like to see just what are the difference(s).
