[pdftex] Sun Solaris: asprintf symbol not found

This is a bug report for TeX Live 2009 on Solaris 5.10:

% uname -a
SunOS marina.ecn.purdue.edu 5.10 Generic_142901-14 i86pc i386 i86pc

"tex" and "tex -version" work as expected.

% latex
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-1.40.10 (TeX Live 2009)
[works as expected -mark]

% latex -help
[other stuff and the following two lines are printed -mark]
-version                output version information and exit
Email bug reports to pdftex at tug.org.

% latex -version
ld.so.1: pdftex: fatal: relocation error: file /opt/texlive/2009/bin/i386-solaris/pdftex: symbol asprintf: referenced symbol not found

What's the short term fix?  Please fix this in TeX Live 2010.  Thanks.
