Actually it wasn't the case, but there is some observation to that.
Garamond series ends with 0000 0000 abaa, Prestige Elite series ends
with 0000 0900 9a99. These are the ones that work. On the other hand,
Adobe Jenson ends with 0000 0000 ff8d, 0000 0000 8d97, 0000 0000 ff8d,
0000 0000 559c, 0010 0000 9200, 0000 0000 c692. Myriad and Utopia also
end with multiple patters like Jenson. These are the ones that cause
error. I'm talking about the results of tail -c 6 $i | od -h applied
to tfm files created by otftotfm.

My environment is based on RedHat 9, but running kernel 2.6.7. I
upgraded tetex, pdflatex and many other tools. LCDF typetools is 2.8.
