[pdftex] extracting figures

If i right click on the selection, i can print it to a file.

What version of acrobat reader?
I use 4.0 (4.05c) on a winnt machine.
The graphics selection tool doesn't appear to do anything;
that is, I can select a portion of the page
(via click and drag) but then what?
There is no save command in AcroReader.

I can, or course, do this with the full acrobat...
