[pdftex] Problems using Graphics from Adobe Illustrator

pdfTeX can only read the pdf.

You can't. Export to PDF.

You should be able to set the pdf pageboxes (Crop, Trim, Bleed,
Art) in AI and you can select them in pdfTeX.
