Kester,

Congratulation to you.  I have fumbled around with True Type fonts in the 
past -- lots of time wasted.  In my opinion its very satisfying for someone 
inexperienced (with no knowledgable person available to answer questions -- 
except persons on this list) like me to run a script producing results and 
then go back to see what the script does.  I moved a few ttf files from a 
WinXP box to a linux box ran your script and the test program created for 
pdflatex ran like a charm with a new (at least on linux) font -- so 
simple.  Thanks for your effort.
