Hi pdfTex list!
I'm using on a daily basis pdfTex to write scientific documents (and
others!) and I'm very happy with this.
I was particularly happy to be able to use Metapost graphics, and
everything went fine until I began to write in French (this is I guess
the origin of the trouble...)

the tex file:

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[french,english]{babel}
\usepackage[pdftex]{graphicx}
\pdfcompresslevel=9
\usepackage{times}
\usepackage[colorlinks, bookmarks, draft=false]{hyperref}
%%%%%%%%%%%% Her begynner selve dokumentet %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
\begin{document}
\begin{figure}
%\begin{otherlanguage}{english}{
\includegraphics{fig_archi}%}\end{otherlanguage}
\end{figure}
\end{document}

Here is the "best of" my log file

A number should have been here; I inserted `0'.
(If you can't figure out why I needed to see a number,
look up `weird error' in the index to The TeXbook.)

Dimensions can be in units of em, ex, in, pt, pc,

I'll assume that you meant to say pt, for printer's points.
To recover gracefully from this error, it's best to
delete the erroneous units; e.g., type `2' to delete
two letters. (See Chapter 27 of The TeXbook.)

I tried many tricks (undefining locally french to english), but with no
success...

Any solutions??
