[pdftex] request for help with pictures and pdflatex

I would use the *latest* pdfTeX version, 1.00b or 1.00c.

http://www.pdftex.org/ contains a pointer to the TeXLive7   
sources and binaries, that contain 1.00b.

But I do not know, where version 1.00c is available
(eg. mikTeX has announced this version).

You have to update "pdftex.def", see the url above.
If you use other pdfTeX related packages, then update, too. 
(hyperref, pdfpages, ...).

No, this is not a standard package, use "graphicx" instead.
