[pdftex] Using EC-fonts with pdftex

Hello,
I've got a problem, using the EC-fonts with pdftex.
When I try to use the EC-fonts, including the command "\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}"
in the header of my LaTeX-file, calling pdflatex gives a very poor result. It
seems that the fonts included are no type-1 - fonts.

If anybody can help, I would be very glad. Thank you!
