[pdftex] newbie question

Hi,

I am using pdflatex and have problems including pictures. Following the
instructions on the pdfTeX-FAQ, I wrote the following test:

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[pdftex]{graphicx}
\begin{document}
\includegraphics{interface.pdf}
\end{document}

interface.pdf is a file that acroread has no problems showing
me. However, the resulting pdf file produced by pdflatex is all screwed
up. The figure comes out tilted and totally blackened. In case it
matters, the pdflatex output is below. I'd appreciate any help.
