[pdftex] LaTeX .toc file causes pdflatex crash?

The standard answer is using hyperref option "plainpages=false".
(in the case book class with \frontmatter and \mainmatter).
In this case the TeX page labels are also shown in AR >= 4
with option "pdfpagelabels".
