Good question.  I haven't known that MetaPost has a troff interface at
all...

Where can I get more info?

Troff users maybe, but gtroff is still alive.  A few days ago I've
released version 1.17 (which isn't probably on gnu.org yet; you can
download it from ftp://ftp.ffii.org/pub/groff).
