i've not heard anything from him.  i did some derived work (for
parallel 2-language texts) for a client, which appears on ctan in
macros/latex/contrib/supported/nrc, but it doesn't do parallel pages
either.  i can see how it might be done, using the basic concepts of
parallel.sty, but it's going to be somewhat challenging.
