>From the FAQ of MacTeX (see http://tug.org/mactex/faq/):

QM.04: Where do I put my personal additions to the texmf tree?

AM.04: They go in
~/Library/texmf
and various subdirectories structured according to the standard TeX conventions. Here ~/Library is the Library folder in your home directory. You may have to create the texmf folder, and any subfolders of it mentioned below. For instance, TeX will find any file in
~/Library/texmf/tex
or a subfolder of this folder, and LaTeX will find any file in
~/Library/texmf/tex/latex
or a subfolder of this folder. It is not necessary to run texhash when adding files to this local tree.

Giovanni

Oggetto: [OzTeX] Switching to MacTeX

I was advised to switch from OzTeX and download and install the MacTeX package, which I have done. However, I still have loads of packages, cfg files etc. associated with my old OzTeX installation. In OzTeX these additional packages etc. were normally kept in an "Addons" folder thus:

OzTeX—>MyTeX—>Inputs—>Addons

How do I get my new TeXShop to find these (it cannot now)? Do I simply drag my "Addons" folder into my new "Tex" folder in my Applications folder or what?

I don't want to do anything before knowing what I'm doing.

Thanks

Julian
