[OS X TeX] Problems with TexShop macros

There seems to be a peculiarity with command completion for itemize:

I type \bite press Esc, get as expected:

\begin{itemize}
\item
•
\end{itemize}•

Next, I type the body of the first item, say “First item.:
On a new line after that, I next type \it and press Esc. I now see:

\begin{itemize}
\item
•

The \end{itemize}• temporarily disappears. But it reappears as soon as I begin to type the body of the 2nd item.

So no real harm done, just a bit of a surprise.

Instead you can use the Source->Close Current Environment menu item or learn more about Command Completion (see Help->TeXShop Tips and Tricks for a bit more information).

PS: after the initial `bit' and Esc to get the basic itemize environment pressing Esc again gives you the version with an optional argument with that argument selected for entry and Cmd-Ctl-F then goes to and selects the `bullet' for the first item text, etc.
