[OS X TeX] MacTeX 2022 checksum failing

Almost surely you didn't download MacTeX-2022, but rather MacTeX-2021. When MacTeX is released,
it is put in the TUG computer release folder, but then it has to be downloaded by various TUG servers. This takes one to three days. Before that, these servers send you the old version.
Please read the explanation now near the top of the MacTeX download page.
Incidentally, as of 1/2 hour ago, the md5 checksum IS INDEED the correct checksum for MacTeX-2022.
But that doesn't mean that the server machines have it yet.
