[OS X TeX] Install From Disk

I’ve had a working TeX distribution on my Mac for a while. I joined Tug and received a DVD full of Tex goodies (TeX Collection 2018). I used the DVD to upgrade my Linux box with Tex live and it worked just fine. However, when I used the same method to upgrade my Mac, it kind of fails. I can run latex from the command line but none of the tools, BibDesk, TeX Live Utility or TeXShop work. That it works from the command line tells me I have the path correct.

Now I see some nonsense about /Library/TeX and all kind of links that seem to go nowhere.

How do I get these tools to use the new TeX installed? The location of the new installation is /usr/local/texlive/2018/bin/x86_64-darwin/.

All help appreciated.
