[OS X TeX] Font selection package

The problem is that as far as I know fontspec is designed for XeTeX or LuaTeX. What I remember looked a lot like fontspec in  but with far less features and again from a flaky memory designed could be used with ``plain'' pdfLaTeX.


I have a feeling I somehow imagined the existence of the package I am looking for.
